Domaine Christophe-Patrice Petit Chablis 2022
Top Value on a White Burg.
Born in Beine, like many generations of his family, Christophe Patrice works on the family domaine near his father and his uncle’s withholdings. In 2007, Christophe decided to follow his own path, setting up his own 5 hecatre domaine. In 2011, Christophe and his wife Aurelie Gendraud decided to expand their Domaine. Together they purchased the Daniel Roblot domaine and created Domaine Gendraud-Patrice, a now 19 hectare estate. The vineyards are located in the village of Beine, Courgis, and Chablis. The wines from Chablis are exclusively Chardonnay growing on a rich calcareous soil.
The vines for this wine are grown traditionally. The grapes are harvested, pressed, and the juice is brought at low temperatures in stainless tanks. The fermentation process does not start immediately, this is done to extract more aromas for better aromatics. Once the fermentation process has been started, the wine spends 6 months on its lees, until it undergoes malolactic fermentation.
Tasting Notes: This wine has a golden dress, a fine and intense nose with aromas of white flower and citrus fruit on a mineral background (flint, gunflint). The palate is balanced, very dry, with mouthwatering acidity. A good attack that persists in a delightful fashion.
On a value white from Burgundy, you will not do any better.
