Les Hauts de Canon-La-Gaffelière is Château Canon-La-Gaffelière's (Premier Grand Cru Classé) second wine. Their vineyards are farmed using 100% organic methods. The 2019 is a blend of 55% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. This "second" wine is elegant, very complex, rich, full bodied, and balanced with extremely fine acidity and ultra-mature, fine, polished tannins. The flavor profile is typical right bank: plum, blackberry, vanilla, mineral, earth, oak, tobacco, pencil shavings, and cedar with a hint of licorice and cigar box. Young, but approachable. Will also age for a decade or more.
