Podernuovo a Palazzone is a new wine estate in Southern Tuscany, close to San Casciano dei Bagni, at the border to Lazlo and Umbria. The estate expands over 20 hectares including Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines. It is managed by Giovanni Bulgari, the successor to the famed jewelry dynasty.
Developed with respect for the terroir of Tuscany, the goal of PoderNuovo a Palazzone is to not only produce beautiful wines but also healthy products helping to preserve the culture and landscape of the region.
Winemaker Notes: A great Tuscan wine from Cabernet Franc. Fine and elegant, intense ruby red color with purple highlights. On the nose can be perceived intense aromas of plum’s jam and cherry with delicate hints of black pepper, licorice and cocoa. The palate is powerful and rich with elegant tannin and soft balsamic and mineral notes.
This is a beautiful cabernet franc with crushed berries and blackberries, as well as hints of chocolate and walnuts. Fresh bay leaf and other herbs, too. Full-bodied with round, polished tannins and a flavorful finish. Long. Cabernet franc. Needs time to come more together, but terrific potential.
