The Story for Cascina Galarin dates all the way back to the 1700’s. The current proprietors ancestors started of producing what is referred to as “village” quality wines. On the solid wood door that went down to the cellar they decided to carve a rooster “Galarin” (in piedmont dialect) which later became the name of the winery. It was in the 1980’s when the winery changed direction fundamentally when Giuseppe Carosso started to focus on “quality” as opposed to “quantity”. The winery started focusing on lowing the yields and focused on creating wines that are more age-worthy. In recent years Guiseppe has been joined by his two sons Marco and Giovanni, together they share the same passion that has kept this winery alive for over 200 years.

The family takes great pride in being respectful to nature and the environment. The Carosso’s are convinced that quality wine is born in the vineyard and as such use no herbicides nor pesticides on the estate. By 2016 the vineyard became certified organic, which is something the Carosso’s take tremendous pride in.

The grapes are selected by hand. They are crushed, pressed and naturally clarified. Alcoholic fermentation is made in stainless steel tanks at low temperature (14-16°C) for almost a month. Wine is kept in contact with his fermentation lees until bottling, with a weekly batonnage. No malolactic fermentation on this wine. Abv 12.5%

Tasting Notes: A crisp sunshine yellow color with fresh floral, citrus and melon aromas with hints of almond. An unoaked, medium bodied, dry white wine, the Arneis is well-balanced, elegant with good complexity and a lingering finish.
