No Limit Syrah - The Nuts 2012 

"The Nuts", which means an unbeatable hand in poker jargon, comes from our favorite barrels, which we piece out for a select bottling.

No Limit is a partnership between Ethan Lindquist and Cliff Korn. Cliff is a poker fanatic with a passion for high end wines, and wanted to do a poker-themed label, making the highest quality Syrah possible.  Cliff is a manager at Acker Merrall & Condit Company, a large wine retail and auction house in New York City, so he has many years of experience in wine sales.

Ethan Lindquist, partner and winemaker, was able to secure a few tons of choice Syrah from his father’s (Bob Lindquist) beautiful 80 acre property (40 acres are planted) in Edna Valley. The Sawyer-Lindquist Vineyard has been grown 100% Bio-dynamically from the day it was planted and is located right across the street from John Alban's famous vineyard. The cooler climate of Edna Valley suits Ethan's winemaking style very well as he crafts wines that are powerful, yet balanced and elegant.

Winemaker: Ethan Lindquist. Grew up under the shadow of his father, Bob Lindquist. Winemaker for “Qupe”. Ethan is picking up right where his father left off. He makes a Syrah that opens up very robust, but when you get it on palate it has a silkiness to it, and its a lot “lighter” than anticipated.
