Egelhoff - Code Black Red 2019
Bob Egelhoff is and incredible winemaker and he has the resume to back this up. Bob makes wine for Merryvale, Robert Craig as well as Becksoffer Vineyards. Bob also currently consults for top wineries such as Pahlmeyer, Axios, as well as David Arthur. To all my wonderful Texas customers if you have been to Fort Worth and dined @ Bonnell’s Fine Texas Cuisine, Bob Egelhoff has been producing Bonnell’s Cabernet Sauvignon since 2008. Bob also does a few wines for Table 301 in South Carolina. Table 301 started back in 1997, and they have put hospitality service in Greenville on the map! If you have been there and tried “BellaLexis” Cabernet, Bob produces that wine for the restaurant group.
Bob also has his own winery, and based on how well it has been doing it has been Bob’s main focus over the past few years. Bob’s top cuvee’s sell’s well past the $100 mark, and the wine I am about to offer you is produced using some fruit from the very same vineyards. Code Black is a 600 case production produced specifically for one of our favorite importers. It is a blend of Bob’s estate Petite Verdot, Malbec and Cabernet sourced from single vineyards “David Vineyard” and the “Glendale Ranch”. Bob’s top wine is the Egelhoff “Black” Reserve, that is sourced out of the Glendale Ranch and sells for $120 a bottle. This production of “Code Black” was derived from some of the excess of the Egelhoff Black Reserve. Code black is very similar in style and nearly ¼ the price!!!!!
Producer's Notes: Rich aroma of cherries, plums, and cinnamon. Many layers of flavors including, cherry cola, coffee, cinnamon, and black fruits. Smooth, ripe tannins will enable this wine to be consumed in it youth. The wine will also age gracefully for well over a decade. Its time to try the CODE BLACK
