B. Wise Winery is owned by Brion Wise, a 3rd generation viticulturalist. “It’s through this bent of farming that we’re able to make wines that satisfy something deep down.” In setting the B. Wise, Brion chose a site next to the world-famous Monte Rosso Vineyard, and his plan was to produce a wine that will rival some of the finest red wines sourced from California. Brion achieved this goal with their wine called “Brion”, which has gotten huge press and sells for about $150 a bottle.
As we keep telling you, we follow the great winemakers to find the best wines. A big reason why this winery is putting out tremendous wine can be attributed to their winemaker, Mark Herold. Mark is best known for his pioneering oenology work for Joseph Phelps, before founding Merus. Today, Mark is making and has made some of the finest Cabs in California, including the likes of Harris, Hestan, Kobalt, Buccella, as well as Kamen.
Winery Tasting Notes: Strawberry, cherry, and black raspberry fruits with touches of black pepper, red earth, and mineral. Additional nuances of warm cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove. Vanilla and warm oak notes accent the supple tannins. The pleasing finish is soft and caressing. Easy drinking for any occasion.
Blend: 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Zinfandel, 10% Syrah, 5% Petit Verdot, 5% Cabernet Franc
